Choosing the Right Bass Fishing Lure

The importance of lures in bass fishing is such that many would swear that you can tell the type of bass fishermen by the type of lures he carries. This is true to a certain extent, though not completely because even if you have the best of lures, if you do not have the skill to use it, everything is useless.

There are literally thousands of lures for bass fishing alone. How will you be able to know which are the best for your use and location? You will have to understand the bass which you will be fishing, have some research on what the locals say about the location and what bait/ lures would work the best which will narrow your search to a very thin strip.

Types of different bass fishing lure

The lures today come in all sizes and shapes. They imitate real fish, they imitate worms and their movement, and they imitate flies which skim the waters to attract the bass. There are also lures that make a low buzzing noise which is a hot favorite of most of the bass species, and you also have the crab and crayfish imitations, and lastly the crank lures which look like a fish with very large mouth.

There are more to the arsenal

You will also find among the more traditional lures the classic bass fishing lure like spinner baits, the pro series jig which has dual rattles, the tournament series spinner bait which (as the name indicates) is used during tournaments and lastly but definitely not the least the clacking buss bait which can be easily called the noisiest lure that is available in the world.

The last word of bass fishing lure

It is of course, extremely important to have the right lures while you are out to catch bass fish. However, the most important aspect is not the lure itself but how you use it and where you use it. It is true that without the right lure you will not one bass fish, but the reverse stand true in the same manner. You cannot expect any results unless you know the rest of the art, like where to fish, how to locate the fish, how to look as unobtrusive as possible since this fish is poked easily and so on. Who said fishing was easy?
